Recently I built my new computer, Great for gaming and quick as a flash. However one monitor just would not cut it for me any more.
A family member had a TV which they decided they no longer wanted, so I quickly took it off their hands and decided to use it on my computer as a second screen to monitor computer temps and instant messaging on while I played games.
Unfortunately, What ever I tried doing to this TV, I could not get the resolution to sit properly. This was quite infuriating as I have little patience.
I decided to scrap the idea of using it as a monitor and decided to just use it as a TV.
It may not have worked out how i wanted it too, but it still worked out quite well.

I did the same thing, but it annoyed me having one monitor at 1920x1200 and one at 1440x900.
ReplyDeleteThats exactly what I had! couldn't put up with it so I just went for the 1.
ReplyDeleteI built my computer last year. I'm kind of jealous about your alls monitors, though. I just have a crappy Acer from Walmart with like a 14" screen.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Blogger!
ReplyDeleteI bought an external mini-monitor for stuff like that to watch my temps and do other things on. All you need is a 7 inch tablet monitor you can buy from Newegg.
damn, i have a grundig LED TV 21 inch which i use as my monitor. does its job after being set up right ahah. My next blog post will probably be my computer
ReplyDeletethanks joe! that sounds like a good idea.
ReplyDeletestill a free TV is always nice, glad it worked out for you!
ReplyDeleteGrats on the second monitor, I recently found myself in the same position as you. Just built my first computer, and needed another monitor. So I has a 24" Vizio TV just sitting around not doing anything so now I am using it as my primary monitor and I will never go back to single monitor computing as long as I live lol.
